Intensive Workshop Description - Note! Now a (7) day class. Our Intensive class date is now available -- please note, positions fill quickly. June 2 - 8, 2013 The (7) Day Intensive Class is an accelerated, highly structured learning environment that will help you achieve breakthroughs that have the potential to change the quality of your work. Scott's goal is for you to begin in make better decisions, and therefore, better paintings in the field and in the studio, long after this class. Scott's approach to teaching painting includes The Three P's. Prepare at the highest level. Practice at the highest level. Paint at the highest level (click on sidebar tab "Teaching Philosophy" to read more). It is designed for the painter who has made a serious commitment to artistic growth and is willing to engage in an intensive study of the fundamentals of outdoor painting. This workshop is structured to cover a lot of territory in a concentrated period of time. The (7) day period allows you to digest, implement and practice. This workshop will include:
* Numerous outdoor painting sessions. Smaller class, more critiquing. * Classroom lectures (particularly the first day to develop a "common language" with Scott) and written instructional materials to take with you. * Example topics covered include: before-approaching-the-canvas ideas, composition, the key-in, motif, masses, value planes, types of light, learning to see relationships, color, edges, patterns, orchestration, problem solving. * Two large demonstrations by Scott Christensen. * Field study and painting throughout scenic Teton Valley, Idaho (just 18 miles from Jackson Hole, Wyoming). * Study of deceased master works * Q & A sessions * Group critiques Tuition: $2,500 Deposit: $1,250 required at time of registration.
